I
am proud to introduce the premier issue of my e-zine. In each issue,
I will share my latest artwork and an article or two to bring a smile
to your face. Some of you may not know that I now have a web site
and my company, Minor Details, is branching out into a variety of
directions. In addition to the design and illustration I've done for
years, I've also begun the process of licensing my artwork for use
by manufacturers. We now have notecards of two of my most popular
paintings, "Fat Pants" and "When the Red Wine is Gone."
I'll keep you posted on the release of new products featuring my work
and any exciting happenings in the product manufacturing field.
If you are wondering, "How did my email address get on this list?"
Well, it's simple, I asked everyone I know for a list of people they
think might be interested in art, laughter and very cool gift and
home decor items... and your name was in the mix. If you know of anyone
who might enjoy my work, click the "forward to a friend"
link and have them sign up for my e-zine.
I hope you enjoy seeing my latest works as much as I enjoy creating
them. I'd love to hear from you and welcome your comments any time.
Remember to find the lighter side of every situation and try to laugh
at life. |

In April of 2005, Sarah Minor was accepted as a Juried Member of Best
of Missouri Hands. Receiving Juried Membership acceptance indicates
that an artist has developed his or her craft beyond mere competence
of technique to a high standard of quality.
Anyone can be a member of Missouri Artisans Association. We welcome
both Missourians and those from outside our state as general members.

Our
dog, Sophie, is a frequent subject of my artwork. She has appeared
as a cartoon in "Dream
Big", Christmas cards and in many children's illustrations.
For anyone who has ever known a basset hound, you know that their
countenance is melancholy, their demeanor is pitiful but their hearts
are full of love and loyalty.
'Le Mardi Gras Chien" is French for "The Mardi Gras Dog."
Mardi Gras is a favorite holiday for Sophie. She has been known to
cut loose and have a good time and during our time in Louisiana, Mardi
Gras was Sophie's favorite time.

The
Humor Around Us
This
story is for all the Moms out there who try to have it all
while still sharing quality time with our children.
I love to cook! Since I was a child, Ive loved to stir together
creations in the kitchen and share them with family and friends.
Im sure it is due to the fact that my Mother is a fabulous
cook and always has something wonderfully aromatic in the oven.
My love of cooking was passed on to me by helping my mother in the
kitchen, especially during the holidays.
Recently, I decided to have my three-year old daughter help me bake
a cake. I thought it would be a chance for me to spend quality time
with her and pass on the love of baking at a young age. There she
was, on tippie toes in a chair pulled in from the dining room with
her little apron tied neatly around her waist, peering into the
mixer while I prepared the ingredients. I was feeling pretty good
about the whole process until I picked up an egg to break into the
batter and she exclaimed, Hey
Tina has those!
Tina is her daycare provider. Even though my daughter didnt
realize her own mother might know what to do with an egg until that
day, I do know she is learning about cooking from a good source!
After we placed the cake in the oven to bake, I knew there was one
thing I could teach her that no one else does quite like me
to lick the batter bowl! It might not be the most motherly
talent to pass on but at least shell have the memory of sitting
on the kitchen floor with the mixing bowl between us licking our
fingers and giggling, waiting for the cake to be pulled from the
oven.
